Eyebrow Piercing

Eyebrow Piercing Information

The eyebrow piercing is a surface piercing that is usually pierced vertically through the eyebrow (obviously!).  The eyebrow piercing has no cultural origin.

Like most piercings, eyebrow piercing was particularly popular in the 1990s.  Eyebrow piercings can be very cheap, hence another reason for their popularity.

How is an Eyebrow Piercing Carried Out?

The piercing is placed on the outer edge of the eyebrow.  It is often referred to as one of the least types of piercings that can hurt.

Before the professional piercer pierces the eyebrow, the areas around the eyebrow is disinfected to avoid infections.  Then the point of entry and exit are marked with a pen,  and this is then fixed with a clamp.

This has two annular clamps on the head, through which the piercing needle can be attached to the marked point and passed through.  Then the hole is pierced.  After the needle has been pierced through the skin, it is removed.

How Long Does an Eyebrow Piercing Take to Heal?

The healing time is 4-8 weeks, but it is different for everyone.  This depends upon having the right care routine but also depends on the individual physical wellness of the person.

If you opt for an eyebrow piercing, you have a wide range of different materials available.  For the first piercing, only titanium or PTFE (plastic) should be used.

After healing of the piercing then other materials such as surgical steel can be used.

Eyebrow piercing is a piercing that may use a Curved Barbell or Ball Closure Ring.

The standard length for eyebrow piercing is 8mm.  The puncture channel (diameter of the rod) is 1.2 mm.  The balls are usually available with 3 mm and 4 mm.

An eyebrow piercing which is pierced horizontally through the eyebrow is called a horizontal eyebrow piercing.  In this variant of eyebrow piercings, a surface bar is usually used, which is a piece of jewellery that has the shape of a staple.
